Q:    Why should I choose you over all the other photographers?

A:    Photography is my passion. To me, it's not work, it's doing what I love. I apply my artistic creativity to produce unique and personalized sessions which capture each individual's personality. If you are looking for something unique and out of the ordinary, give me a call so we can discuss your one-of-a-kind photo shoot. However, if you are seeking traditional and typical studio portraits, Sugar and Spyce Photography isn't  the right place for you.

Q:    Where are you located?

A:    Sugar and Spyce Photography is currently located in the foothills of the beautiful Smoky Mountains in Tennessee! My in home studio is located in Knoxville, TN, however, studio sessions are limited to Boudoir, Maternity and Newborns at this time. Family portraits as well as sessions with children are all photographed at any location of your choice outdoors. I specialize in On-Location sessions in the beautiful scenery nature has to offer. Travel to other cities and states is also available.

Q:    What are the business hours of Sugar & Spyce?

A:   Sessions are available every weekend excluding major holidays as well as appointments Monday -Thursday at 5:15pm.Contact Sugar & Spyce Photography by emailing me at info@sugarandspyce.com  or calling me at (865) 235-2092 as these hours may vary according to yours and the photographers schedule. Your best bet is to just call so we may work out a schedule that fits both of us.

Q:    Should I choose an On-Location or Studio Session?

A:    At this time, studio sessions are only available for Boudoir, Maternity and Newborn sessions. However, I can travel to YOUR home or indoor location of your choice. All OUTDOOR On-Location sessions are seasonal and contingent upon the weather. On-Location sessions are available from March 30th - October 30th. For Boudoir Sessions this will vary according to how comfortable you are with your surrounding environment. You should choose whatever makes you feel comfortable. Q:    When is the recommended time to come in for a Maternity/Pregnancy Session?

A:    This will vary from person to person as everyone's body reacts differently to pregnancy. You should schedule your appointment no earlier than between 30 and 35 weeks gestation and no later than 37 weeks gestation for a single baby, and no earlier than 25-28 weeks gestation and no later than 30 weeks gestation for multiple babies. This ensures that your belly has a nice roundness to it so it shows up in the photos. Please DO NOT wait until the last weeks of your pregnancy to schedule an appointment. This takes planning in advance and I can not always accommodate scheduling on a last minute notice. (FYI :Stretch marks CAN be removed upon request.)

Q:    I noticed you have taken pictures of newborns in the past, is that still a service you provide?

A:    Yes. Newborns up to 12 months old are welcome for studio or in home sessions. Once your baby is walking, studio sessions are not available. Children that can walk usually do better in an environment outdoors or somewhere they can explore. If you are wanting the wrinkled and curled up newborn look, it is best to bring your baby in before 2 weeks of age.

Q:    What happens to my photos once I have completed my session?

A:    Once you have completed your session , your photos will be processed and manipulated for perfection if needed (including air brushing for Boudoir, Model and Maternity Sessions ONLY) at NO ADDITIONAL COST. You will then have a chance to proof and purchase your photos.

Q:   What kind of backgrounds and props do you have?

A:    The sets change with time and constantly throughout the session via the photographer’s imagination. Most of the photos shot in the studio are on a black or white backdrop. If you have a favorite prop at home, don’t hesitate to bring it to the photo shoot. You can also choose to shoot your session on-location (i.e. your home, yard, park, historical site).

Q:    When do I get to see my photos?

A:      General turn around time to view your proofs is 7 days. Once your photos are completed, you will be invited back to the studio to view large high resolution proofs and place your order.  Photos MUST be purchased no later than 2 weeks after the date of your photo shoot.

Q:    What happens if I can't or don't order during the 2 week time frame?

A:    If you do not purchase your photos during this time frame, a 20% surcharge (or late fee if you will) will be ADDED to the total order.

Q:    How long does it take to receive my prints after I place my order?

A:    After you have decided what you are going to do with your photos and you purchase your prints, general developing and shipping time is  2-3 weeks. You will be notified by telephone or email to come and pick up your photos once your photos arrive. Prints/Packages MUST be paid for before your order can be processed.

*Tiffany Gales, Sugar and Spyce Photography is NOT responsible for any order in transit once it has left the studio or printing production company. However, in the event the photographs or products are lost or damaged in transit, Sugar and Spyce Photography agrees to send replacement photographs or products after the customer ships the damaged products back to the Sugar and Spyce Photography Studio.

Q:    What if my skin isn’t perfect at the time of shooting?

A:    I provide  minor airbrushing/retouching including scar removal, stretch mark removal, acne removal and tattoo removal. This service is ONLY included in BOUDOIR and MODEL photo sessions at no additional charge, and is NOT included in couple or family sessions. I can do my very best to make you look perfect and flawless, just know that sometimes under certain circumstances it may not be possible. NOTE: I can NOT ADD or REMOVE breasts, buttocks, make-up or any other part of the body.

Q:    Do I bring my own lingerie/clothes to my boudoir session, and what kinds of items do you provide?

A:    I do not provide any lingerie, shoes or fashion accessories, so you will need to bring your own. Some people find this a great excuse to buy something new, and some people find unlikely treasures in their closets and drawers that they already have.

Q:    Is there someone there to do my hair and make-up or should I come with it already on?

A:  You should come completely prepared to the photo session.  I am not a make-up artist, I am a photographer.  Please bring extra make-up for backup. J  HINT: Most make-up counters (such as the ones in malls) give free make-overs and/or make-up tips. They will "show" you how to apply THEIR make-up for free. Also, if you actually know someone who is looking to make a few extra bucks on the side and is licensed/certified in cosmetology, please let me know...it would be nice to have a make-up artist/hair stylist on hand if needed. J

Q:    What do I need to do to prepare for my photo session?

A:    The day of your session, you should arrive ON TIME to get acquainted with the set and photographer so any questions you may have can be answered and you can get as comfortable as possible. Please have hair and make-up ready when you arrive. I only book 1 client per day so as to completely remove any "rushed" feeling....we have plenty of time for your session, so please don't feel rushed or pressured for time although most sessions don't take more than an hour or so. Please be prepared to pay $125.00 deposit on the day of your session. This deposit will be applied toward the purchase of your photos. I accept cash and credit cards. The remaining balance is due at the time you view and order your photos.

Q:    I am really nervous about my lingerie/boudoir session, I have never done this before.

A:    Of course you are nervous! Who wouldn’t be? I will give you as much time as you need to feel completely comfortable before the session begins. No one will ever use force or pressure you into doing anything you do not want to do. If you arrive and just aren't comfortable at that time, you may reschedule your appointment for a later date.

Q:    How "intimate" does the boudoir photo session get? Do I have to pose nude?

A:    Remember when shooting a lingerie or boudoir session,  No one will ever force you or urge you to do anything you do not want to do. You can take off or leave on as much as you like....You are the one in control during the entire session, the photographer just snaps the photographs! FYI...nude photos without your face showing can also be arranged.

Q:    Should I come alone or can someone accompany me to my boudoir session?

A:    Typically, friends should not stay for your photo shoot. You can bring a friend to your session IF and only IF you know for sure you will feel comfortable being "sexy" in front of them. Otherwise,  they will be asked to head down the street for some window shopping or a  bite to eat. I've seen it too often where someone asks a friend to accompany them because they are nervous about the photo shoot, then they just don't loosen up during the photo shoot because they are slightly embarrassed or shy with their friend watching. Although, if you decide to bring your spouse or significant other, we can include them in the session and shoot some "couples boudoir" photographs.

Q:    Do I have to pay for everything up front, what are the fees if I cancel?

A:    You reserve your appointment by pressing one of the "Purchase Session" credit card button options on the Session Pricing page OR by stopping by the studio and paying with cash or money order in person (sorry, no personal checks). This allows you to purchase your session and appointment time. No Exceptions. If I do NOT receive your payment at the time you make your appointment, your session/appt will automatically be canceled. I have a No Tolerance policy when it comes to Lateness or No Shows.  Be prepared to pay $100.00 deposit on the day of your photo session. This deposit will be applied toward your order but must be paid prior to leaving your session appointment. You must pay the balance at the same time you place your order. Your photos CANNOT be processed and ordered until the balance is paid.

Reschedule and Cancellation policy - If for any reason you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, you may do so up to 24 hours prior to your appointment without penalty.  If I do NOT receive your reschedule or cancellation notice, at least 24 hours in advance or you do not show up to your scheduled appointment, your session fee will not be refunded.  BUT If in fact, I receive your notice for cancellation at least 24 hours in advance, your session fee will be refunded back to you (minus 4.5% service fee for credit card transactions) .

NOTE: If you do indeed call and let me know you can't make it to your appointment but can't reschedule at that time, you have 7 days from the date I was informed to reschedule. If you do NOT reschedule within this grace period, I keep your session fee. I reserve the right to refuse service at my discretion.

IF YOU DO NOT CALL TO RESCHEDULE AND YOU FAIL TO SHOW UP AT YOUR SCHEDULED VIEW TIME TO VIEW YOUR PHOTOS, YOU ARE FORFEITING ANY OFFERS OR DISCOUNTS TO BE APPLIED TO YOUR ORDER AS WELL AS YOU WILL INCUR A 20% PENALTY ADDED TO YOUR ORDER. HOWEVER, YOU CAN RESCHEDULE THIS APPOINTMENT TO VIEW YOUR PHOTOS AT A LATER DATE.

*Please see the Pricing List for a complete list of prices.*

Q:    What do I do if I ever want reprints of my photographs?

A:    If you decide you would like reprints of your photos, you can call the studio and place an order for those prints (with an updated mailing address) up to 5 years from the date of your session. Upon completion of your session, you must sign a copyright notice stating ONLY that you will not pass the photographs off as your own or someone else’s. Instead they are the work of Sugar and Spyce Photography.  If you choose to have them reprinted or copied by yourself or anyone else, a signed copyright release form (from the photographer) is available for a slight fee.

Q:    Are there discounts for repeat customers?

A:    If you return to Sugar and Spyce Photography as a repeat customer, you have 2 options:

1) $25.00 off of any Print Package of your choice.

2) $50.00 off when purchasing the CD ROM containing your photos.

These options can be used each time you return :)

Q:    Are there any perks for referring friends?

A:    If you refer someone to Sugar & Spyce Photography and they book and complete a session, they must tell me WHO referred them at the time of booking.  Once they have completed their session, If they are referred by you, your session fee for a second session of your choice is FREE!
